Shamillah Wilson

Shamillah Wilson is a South African feminist, wellbeing coach and process architect.

Shamillah has worked across the continent and globe, and during this time has established strong networks in the area of women’s rights and social justice. Aside from her work on wellbeing, she has developed particular areas of expertise includes developing and curating educational content (training and toolkit development), monitoring and evaluation, movement building and facilitating complex conversations or processes relating to organisational, collective and individual wellbeing. Her real passion and interest lies in supporting organisations to align their practice with their values to build thriving organizational ecosystems.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts from UCT as well as an MPhil in Inclusive Innovation from UCT. In 2012, she launched Project Ignition, an initiative that develops the social, emotional and economic literacy of youth. She continues to lead Project Ignition and support other youth organisations and women’s rights organisation in strategy development and implementation in very challenging contexts. In 2015, she won the prestigious Inyathelo Women in Philanthropy Award for her outstanding contribution towards youth development. In 2016, she was awarded a Bertha Scholarship to complete her MPhil in Inclusive Social Innovation at UCT. The scholarship was awarded to support her work on youth and wellbeing.

She is curious about life and the world, and enjoys great conversation, music and also the company of good books.
